Unfortunately, I missed the first half of the episode. The whole fortress being deconstructed at the end....WOW.

I loved it, everything about it. And I bet that Lex will be back for the season 8 opener.

It was a good finale but the ending didn't really feel like a good farewell for MR, also it did feel a little rushed, but it was still great.

I thought it was a good episode, but I must say that it was a little weak for a season finale, especially with the knowledge that MR is leaving. I felt like he had about 10 minutes of screen time. Now, maybe they didnt know he was leaving but they must have had some inclination he might. Sad way to see him go. Some cool points:

-Brainiac vs. Clark was really cool
-Lois and Clark scenes were really good
-I may catch some crap for this but the CLANA moment was really a tear jerker. I cried!!! There!!! I admit it!!!! Crying or Very sad
-Fortress destroyed will make for a cool plot point next season.

I just wish this wasn't Rosenbaum's swan song. Overall a B- and not quite as good as "Phantom" was last year.

I don't know yet. It was a good episode, but I guess I was expecting more. Maybe more of a farawell scene with Michael Rosenbaum.

Agreed. I thought it was a good episode but not nearly as high a calibre as other season finales...arriba arriba! (sorry, "finales" made me think of frijoles, and then taco bell, and then speedy gonzales. lol) Anyways, yeah I thought the Clana moment was pretty sad too (though I reserve the right to shed tears for other stuff...lol). Poor Kara - and poor us - if she lets out more phantoms and we have to repeat season 6, I'm gonna wig out... 'course there's always this Doomsday nonsense probably being an escaped phantom...ugh.

But I digress... decent episode - not NEARLY as good as Descent (still my all-time favorite): 3/5.

...and what was the deal with Clark and the orb thing Lex was holding - was it hurting him? Me = clueless...

Are they planning to leave Rosenbaum's finale for the Season 8 Premiere? I was expecting a huge final battle with all the works & Lex attempting to go out in a blaze of glory. I hope they know what they are doing because 5 minutes of Lex vs. Clark was not enough.

I thought it was a little weak as well. Way too much Jimmy and not enough Lex vs. Clark. Plus the fact that lex isn't coming back next year has me worried that the season opener is going to be filled with holes and gaps all over the place.
There were some good things though I just thought it was going to be a little more Lex centric.

Its hard to say what I really thought of this finale only have watched it once but it was pretty good. The ending wasnt what I expected...kind of confused how the device to control Clark ended up being plugged into the crystals and destroying the fortress with Lex and Clark inside. Guess we have to wait to find out but I dont see how destroying the fortress controls Clark. I really thought Jor-El might step in but I guess it is Kal-El who controls his destiny now. I really enjoyed all the Brainiac scenes and the beginning with "Kara" was pretty cool. A little confused how Braniac survived and did the whole phantom zone thing to Kara....maybe someone can clear that up for me. I will say Brainiac needs to stay dead this time. I love Marsters but I think that villian is done. I knew Lana would leave eventually but it seemed rushed and what she said made sense but not at that time. Sad moment though and well done....I loved that Lois came in at the exact moment. Jimmy was dumb as usual...sucking up to Lex and thinking that does anything. Chloe...no marrying Jimmy. Its just weird. The last thing I will say is does Clark ever learn? Besides killing Brainiac...he didnt. Asking Chloe to get involved like that was ridiculous. Especially after Lana getting turned into a zombie. Good thing she had healing powers. The look on his face when he attacks Chloe is priceless...What the hell are you!?

The S7 Finale Sucked! It was by far the Worst one.

The only things that I liked was .....

1) Clark destroying Brainac for good this time.
2) Chloe weakening Braniac as he put her in a catatonic state and Braniac says, "What the hell are you?!?"
3) Chloe coming out of the catatonic state Quick.
4) The Clois hug scene.
5) Jimy proposing to Chloe.

The ending really had me wanting more as well. There just didn't seem like a big enough climactic build up. However, something makes me think the last few scenes were cut at the end so that Lex could be in the premiere of next season without Michael actually coming back. The abundant number of Jimmy scenes plus the first scene with Edward Teague (which I think may have come from Quest) could be signs that they went back and inserted scenes to make up for the last scene they took out.

Taking that into account I thought this episode was amazing; however, I think Bizarro, Descent, and Apocalypse rank a bit higher. It had that very high stakes feel to it. I pretty much loved everything, altho I wish Kristin had been around for a scene or two. I also didn't understand how the Fortress was destroyed just by Lex placing the orb on the console or how Clark was weakened by that.

I was also hoping for an explanation of what really went on on Krypton with Brainiac and Kara before Clark got there. Brainiac clearly placed Kara in the Phantom Zone, then made a copy of himself that looked like Kara. But if Brainiac's goal was to destroy Clark as a baby, he could have easily done it with two of himself. Why have Kariac stop the other Brainiac from destroying Clark, stab his copy with a spike, then destroy him? He could have easily escaped back to Earth through the portal after both Clarks were dead. Then when he was back on earth, and was walking into the kitchen, why did he want milk and why did he collapse on the floor? I'm confused.

The scene with Lex in the snow suit was replaced as it was shot pre-writer's strike agreement. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't recall ever hearing anything about Clark flying.
