Steve was dead on about smallville getting people to like superman. If it werent for this show I never would have read last son or birthright or even the all star series.

I wasn't a big Superman fan outside of the movies. I always thought he didn't have much depth until Smallville. So I can say that Smallville truly made me a Superman fan.

I was a really big fan of the Superman movies ever since I was a little kid. I can't count the number of times I watched it. So I came to "Smallville" already being a Superman fan (although that would just be from the movies and from "Lois and Clark"). I think what really hooked me on "Smallville" was Lex Luthor and Michael Rosenbaum and the friendship between Clark and Lex. It had this great inevitable tragedy to it that I really enjoyed watching play out.

Great job on the episode, Steve! I came into the show as a lifelong Superman fan and from just watching the pilot I was hooked. Not only was it one of the coolest Superman things I had seen on film but I was amazed at the quality of the show. All the characters were portrayed in interesting ways so that even though I knew the mythology I saw this story as if for the first time.
I have never been bothered by the changes made for the show as I see it as an Elseworlds type time line, but I love it when they give us the Superman moments that give us a peek into what is to come.
I have had a lot of friends, much like you, who have come to like the show after I lent them the pilot. Some of them even started reading the comics as well.
Thanks for the episode and I am looking forward to you and Derek busting out the 100th episode and the start of a new season which promises to be filled with the iconic Superman moments that fans have been waiting for.

Cheers!
