Guys, a friend of mine was in Calgary this past week where Michael appeared at a convention and announced to a few people that he was definitely not returning for season eight and that some sort of official word would be out soon. I saw on Superman Homepage that they said they were 99% sure he wasn't returning, but I figured I'd post this given it came straight from the horse's mouth - if a mod needs to delete this I understand but it seems pretty legit and I assume Craig or Derek will be the first to hit us with the blow when/if it happens.

I'm so upset!!!!!!!! Mad

I wonder how Lex will be written out of the show? Will he Die?!

I hate Lex so I could care less how they take him out of SV. I do like MR though don't get me wrong.

Read Alan Moore's Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow and you could see where they might be going with Lex and Brainiac being the big bads this season as well as how Rosenbaum can leave. Did anyone say Zombie Lex?

Seriously though, this show is in for a major change with no Luthors.

Atleast we get "Lexcorp" before he goes out.

It will be a very sad show without him. He'll be missed.

But, now it's time to bring in some villains to fill the void.

Maybe not...this may make the Lex Luthor character that much better. Unless they pull a Lois and Clark and kill him...now that would be a sad die in Smallville.

I just hope that his departure forces the producers and writers to come up with more creative storytelling. I feel certain they will.
