I was yet again able to see this early thanks to a friend in the production company, and I'm gonna review the entire thing, not just the six parts to it.

Man I gotta say it is sooooo good to hear Kevin Conroy's voice again as Batman it's been a while, but boy does it still hold up extremely nicely.

- Art: Now my thing on the 6 stories are that they are all in different styles, some are better then the others but the animation in all of them are outstanding. It can be weird at times but you just have to appreciate the amount of effort that the different directors put in to trying o express their creative anima vision. Also if your not watching this in Blu-Ray then man you need to get an HDTV, and a Blu-Ray player just for this.

-Story: Out of the six stories that are here there are only four that you really need to watch, the other two are just frosting for this magnificent cake of storytelling.

**MILD SPOILERS WILL FOLLOW**
The first one is set through four kids imagination of what Batman is, and the animation for this one is extremely weird, but entertaining.
The second one is set through the perspective of two police agents and this one is my favorite, because the anima style is just perfect and the story is realistic.
The third one is my least favorite because it is about Bruce testing out a new gadget by Lucas Fox, and the animation is strait up anima with no different style from the other classic anima.
OK now it's time for me to type away, because now we come to the story that bridges Batman Begins- and The Dark Knight, it's about Batman going out trying to take care of the chaos from the end of Begins, and saves a man from the scarecrow gang, the story... yes fitting but it will not be mentioned at all in the Dark Knight I can tell you that, but it is a fun little story ark, but the animation could have been better because of the way Bruce's bottom face looks but other then that it's ok but not great, and this one really is the main event but I'll get there in just a second.
The next one is very spiritual, and meaning full, about Bruce as Batman trying to get through pain and discovering how to do that it's an amazing story and it's my second favorite with good animation of course.
The last story well it's says that it's the main event of this whole package(and the longest) but I don't thing so because the story feels like a cheap episode from Bruce Timm's BTAS(not that BTAS was ever cheap) it's about Deadshot going around killing people and Batman has to stop him...... yeah very strait forward but entertaining, with very good anima art to it.

This is an amazing package with the exception of a few stories but at least four out of six are incredible. I know how you must feel about the whole anima style to it but put those to rest cause this is amazing.

Keep in mind the story called: "In Darkness Dwells " is really the main event of this, NOT Deadshot because "In Darkness Dwells" is the bridge between the two movies.

I give this 9.4 out of a possible 10

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Ok, so I got to see this early too, and I typed up some of my reactions while I was watching it.

1. Have I Got a Story For You – Very cool. Seeing Batman from four teenagers points-of-view. Once as a shadow, once as a man-bat (that rips the perp’s head off!), once as Robocop and finally as the real deal. I liked this a lot.

2. Crossfire – Awesome. This is another Batman from another person’s point-of-view story. This time it’s from two cops, one who believes in Batman and the other that wants nothing to do with vigilantism. Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown, CSI) provides the skeptic’s voice. Very gritty. This is how I like my Batman. Not sure about the chinstrap though.

3. Field Test – Ew, I do not like Bruce Wayne looking like an elf from LOTR. So strange hearing Kevin Conroy coming from this elf’s mouth. Batman has a neat look in this though. He really does look like a Gotham Knight here.

4. In Darkness Dwells – Batman on the hunt for Killer Croc, who abducted Cardinal Fallon into the Narrows. And his bite carries the Scarecrow’s fear toxin, which makes Batman’s journey into the sewers even more frightening. Great action, and it sure looks like Michael Keaton under that mask, maybe it’s just me.

5. Working Through Pain – Batman is injured and while trying to escape from some sewers, he has memories of his training of how to build his endurance to pain. Again, Bruce is looking very Manga and I would dismiss this tale as boring and kind of silly if not for the cool fight toward the end. And where did all those guns come from? Do Gotham's lowliest toss their guns in that one torm drain to get rid of them all?

6. Deadshot – Bruce is looking more Bruce-like again. And he’s contemplating guns? But as the title suggests, Deadshot is the baddie in this one. Nice intro to him, too. But then he rips off one of Bullseye’s gimmicks from Daredevil. Oh well. Whoa! Did Batman just punch a bullet out of the air?! Very cool fight on a train. Great Batman imagery.

And at about an hour and fifteen minutes, it’s over way too soon! I liked it a lot, but I heard there was supposed to be a bridge between Batman Begins and Dark Knight, and nothing seemed to do that except for maybe In Darkness Dwells, and only because Scarecrow is in it and it deals with the fear toxin a bit. But really, you could see Dark Knight without seeing this. For DC animation fans only. I am one of them, so I would give this a thumbs up.

I'd say my faves were Crossfire and Deadshot (a cheap TAS episode? more like an awesome TAS episode!). My least faves are Field Test and Working Through Pain. Have I Got a Story For You is pretty neat and In Darkness Dwells really is a letdown if this is the bridge, but it is good nonetheless. All in all, if you're interested enough to read this review, I say check it out. It really is pretty cool.

I got it on DVD right then it came out. I thought it was really well done. I really liked the working through the pain. But by far my favorites are Deadshot and Crossfire.

Alrighty then I must agree with those above me. This is just an amazing DVD all around.

***Spoiler alert!***

1. I gotta say, while this is a very entertaining story, "Have I Got a Story For You" felt a lot like "Legends of the Dark Knight" from BTAS and I loved it! This story and the different views on different aspects of the Dark Knight are a lot more...intriguing than the Animated Series version. 8/10

2. My least favorite of the six, but doesn't mean I didn't like it. I don't really have a good reason as to why it's number 6 on my list...it just is. BUT the final scene with Batman in the fire was just terrific. And now that I thought of it, the animation was very good. 6.5/10

3. "Field Test" put up a good fight for my favorite. While this Bruce Wayne was a lot younger than the others, the tech. and the reason why he chose not to use it is just so true to how Batman is. It was nice to see Lucius Fox and I really loved the batsuit here. The plot of this one is the best. 9/10

4. A story written by the co-screenwriter for "Batman Begins", David Goyer and produced by the same animation company who did "Death Note", "In Darkness Dwells" did not disappoint. The fact they were able to have Killer Croc linked with Scarecrow is amazing. The fights were great, but short. Though, I'm not surprised as this DVD has six different storys all into one, so its acceptable. 8/10

5. "Working Through Pain" is hands down, my favorite storyline in this DVD. Very symbolic and very deep and really leaves you thinking. I loved the animation and the action, but it was the meaning behind everything that got me hooked. The last scene with Batman holding all the guns in a hole saying he can't get out? If I could do a back flip, I would have. I love things that are like that. There really wasn't one thing about this one that I didn't like. 10/10

6. Another story that dealt a lot in symbolism, "Deadshot" was the last story of the movie and (perhaps due to it being written by Alan Burnett) the one that felt the most like the Animated Series Batman. My favorite scene? When we see just how good of a shot Deadshot really is. 8.5/10

This DVD has earned a sold 10/10 and did not disappoint me as whenever I found one thing I didn't like a whole lot, I found 50 things I loved. And considering this takes place in the year that passes by from "Batman Begins" to "The Dark Knight" it didn't go to out there with villains and such.

Oh! And I recomend that you get the 2 disc addition as it has four BTAS episodes on it; "Heart of Ice", "I Am the Night", "Legends of the Dark Knight" and "Over The Edge" ("Over The Edge" being one of the best episodes in the series' run, in my opinion)

I enjoyed it very much however it was extremely short.

I did feel that the first "episode" was a subtle rip-off of an old "Batman: The Animated Series" episode. In that one the writers borrowed heavily from Frank Miller's 'The Dark Knight Returns' and had a group of kids each telling stories about Batman. That episode ended with Batman showing up at the old theatre the kids were hanging out in.

This DVD feature makes me want a new Batman TV show. Get on it WB!
