Does anyone think they shot a few scenes for the premiere with Michael/Lex so that he's isn't just not there anymore after the collapse of the Fortress

That's the hope I guess, though I'm not convinced that is the case. I would like for there to be some resolution but we shall see. You know that makes me wonder if the show will start off right after "Artic" takes place or have some real time pass before the premiere. It's something to ponder.

Most of the time they start off right were they left off.

Well they didnt for Season 2 &3, but I agree with you that they have in recent seasons. I guess I meant more like..."24 hours later" or something like that. It would be odd to start right where it left off when MR is no longer on the show and everyone's fate is being shown except for his. Having time lapse may be a way out of explaining where he is. Clark awakens to find Lex vanished or something of that nature. Who knows? It's all speculation as of now.

improbable scenario:

Clark and Lex are transported to the phantom zone....Clark and Kara escape..leave lex there...furthering his hatred for Clark. Lex escapes years later after forming the Legion of Doom from inside the Zone.

ok...crazy, but fun to come up with.

I feel this is the best thread to post this in, please everyone don't PM me or email SHoE about making the wrong choice of switching to the Fortress theme for SHoE. That's kind of disheartening. The FoS is very much a part of Superman, very much a part of Smallville, and will definitely be seen again. I've read about 50 calling us stupid for the switch.

Oh they all say how much they love it but how silly it was to unveil it upon the eve of the Fortress' destruction.

Okay, I'd seen the episode already, wasn't like I didn't know what was coming...I made the decision knowingly. ::charlie brown ARGH!::

Well yeah, but the fortress is gonna come right back up again within a matter of episodes(it's too late to call it, grr).
