Now with the WGA strike officially over, I’d like to see some JLA movie discussion re-ignited. I know this is wishful thinking, but I really wish Tom Welling would take on the role of Superman. Now I know that supposedly Welling has said he has no interest in being in the movie nor does he ever want to wear the Superman costume. But with actors such as Scott Porter & DJ Cotrona (who is like 5’9 by the way) rumored to be playing the last son of Krypton, this is looking like WB is not serious in casting a serious actor to play the man of steel. When I heard that the studio finally decided to delay production due to the script needing to be re-written I was very relieved. I’ve been waiting for this movie as along as I can remember. But what is the deal seriously? Superman is one of, if not the most iconic hero in history. But yet these studios and producers continue to hack this character. Let’s get some discussion and feedback going. |

Here's an update I just read about the JLA movie:
Australia’s Herald-Sun Newspaper says that a 2010 start date, rather than mid-2008, is now being eyed. Apparently much of the cast have gone and booked themselves up this year, but more importantly, the studio has realised the film isn’t ready to roll. No big loss – except for Megan Gale who has just quit her day job [as a runway model] to become Wonder Woman.
That's good news because I wasn't happy w/the cast at all. Well, I mean besides Megan Gale as Wonder Woman. She's a hottie! And she has the look of an amazon princess. |

I read something last week that said that the movie will be re-written excluding superman and batman from the movie. The explanation was that it will take place after doomsday kills superman and Batman was expelled from the league. They said they want it that way to avoid any continuity issue with the ongoing movies. But the story will revolve around Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Green Arrow. This is actually good news to me, because I am really excited about the idea of seeing a GL on the big screen. Special effects with his ring and what it can do should be realy cool.
sorry if this has already been mentioned.

If they aren't going to have Superman in the movie..they should just do Identity Crisis...then you would only need them in the movie for like a moment or two. I love that book. |

If this indeed true, then that totally SUCKS! Okay, you have a JLA movie without 2 of the big 3?? If this is in fact true, then I will not see this movie. You can’t have a Justice League w/o Superman & Batman. And regarding GL, it’s Jon Stewart not Hal Jordan so I’m all set with that too! I’ve waited for this movie for so long, but w/all this news, I’m all set! |

I think this would only work if they showed Doomsday killing Superman (OMG LIVE ACTION, CAN YOU IMAGINE!?!?!?) and showed Batman getting kicked out... |

I agree! What the heck?! You can't even begin to think about the JLA without Supes, Batman & WW....
If Tom Welling has really said that he doesn't want to play Superman in a JLA movie...I think he needs to suck it up and grow a pair. He kicks butt at playing Clark Kent in Smallville!!! Can't someone just give him a Superman outfit? He could wear it around at his house, get comfortable in it, and then be amazing in a movie! LOL |

I just came across this bit of news over at IESB.net regarding Justice League of America
Common, the man who would be bringing John Stewart/The Green Lantern to life is keeping hope alive for Justice League. "Now that the writers strike is over, [the script is] going to head back to the writers for a cleanup. God willing, it’ll get done. This would be a big role for me,” Common tells JFX.
There is no doubt that The Green Lantern would be a big role for the Hip-Hop superstar but will the re-write get done anytime soon?
IESB sources in Australia tell us that there are early rumblings within the studio that the film might, and this is a big might, be having a second shot come sometime this summer. |

No Batman. No Superman. No Hal Hordan Green Lantern. Fans of JLA and DC are going to sent the JLA movie to hell .JLA is looking to be a disaster. |

I think WB needs to step back and really look at what Marvel has done. I know there have been some missteps:
Elektra, Ghost Rider, some would say Spider-Man 3, and Punisher.
But honestly, starting with Blade and working our way up to this Summer's Iron Man, Marvel has done more right than wrong with it's properties. And now that we know that Marvel Studios is definitely eyeing an Avengers project, they are trying to get movies for individual members of the Avengers knocked out. That's the route that WB should go. They have this great well of characters they can draw from, and instead of doing quality movies with the individuals, they are trying to go straigt to the big money...and I'm afraid the results thus far haven't been pretty. |

First off, I hope you mean Spider-Man 3, because I personally found S2 the best of the three.
Other than that, yeah I agree with you, I mean Marvel has gone so far as create their own movie company (Marvel Studios)...D.C. really needs to kick it up a notch. |
