I agree, they utilized everything they already had and it worked out perfectly aslo the star above the fireplace was there as far back as season 4, wasn't like the veritas symbol on the glass where they put it up for the plot, it has been there for a long time i looked in a couple episodes in season 1 but never got close enough to the fireplace to see but was def. there in season 4, excellent episode!

I love all the things they tied in like the moving of the mansion and the fireplace. Robert Picardo was fantastic.
Just one thing- When Jimmy walked into the apartment after he stood Chloe up, she turned on the light next to her bed, but she had an open book on her lap. Was she reading in the dark? Just something I wondered if you all caught.

if you want an explanation of the details - then i'll argue that she turned off the light when she heard jimmy come in. This was in order to really lay down the guilt on jimmy. She's a woman, women are evil to men like that. Trust me, i found out the hard way.

Back to the episode.....Yeah, i can imagine the writers room to this season. "are there any plot's from the first seasons that we just add to this season??"

The one thing I'm wondering, was this whole detour from zurich, to smallville, to canada, to scotland (no wait, back to smallville) all part of the original vertias plan.

Or was the original plan for Lex to go straight from zurich to greenland.

speaking of which, i honestly thought that the fortress would be somewhere in the polar circle, like near the north pole.

Good episode. Wonder what Oliver Queen has for a personal jet though -- the Concorde? I mean a trip from Kansas to Quebec and Clark hadn't got a fatal dose of Kryptonite yet? That's pretty fast.

I'm not sure it's Greenland. It was so far north I think it just marked it as being on the polar ice cap.

I saw the episode and I thought it was great. I do hope that Kara comes back next season. It would kinda stink to see someone from the house of El stuck in the phantom zone and not be able to get out. I am sad to see Michael go, but I am hoping for these two new bad characters to bring the show to a good end. Oh, and does anyone know if Brainiac is really dead?
