And the "meanwhile, back on Krypton" deal... so the Fortress could have sent Clark back to Krypton all this time - all during Clark's pining over his history, his parents, etc. - and only now he finds out.

I like the way they are doing the Lois and Clark thing right now. I mean remember, it was Lois who feel for Superman and Clark has been acting like Superman more than like Clark lately. And I like it because Clark still has feelings for Lana, so this way it is Lois who is falling for Clark (Superman) than the other way around.
I think Jor-El saved this power till now because of the dangers of time travel. I mean you have no idea what would happen if Clark Kent of season seven met Jor-El and Laura, would Jor-El's memories still be in the ship/Fortress? ... and so on and so on...
| igpx7 wrote: | Someone mentioned that Clark may not have his memories of his parents on Krypton sending him out.
Well if you look at time with different dimensions, Clark is in his own right now, he intersected with a dimension of time that was him as a baby redoing everything that happened but this time Brainiac was involved. So the Clark Kent that was saved on Krypton in "Apocalypse" will have vague memories of one person putting him in the ship rather than two and since clark is supposed to look like Jor-El he'll have memories of "Jor-El". This Clark is living his own time line and will remember what happened. |
Something tells me you've read "The Universe in a Nutshell" by Stephen Hawkings and if you haven't then you're views on time travel fit that of Professor Hawkings (not to mention mine!). If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.
I loved the throw backs that they had to season one's "Hourglass", the circle is becoming complete. |

You really got to had it to them for this one. Alternate dimension and time travel in one episode? Plus Lois being hot and flirty and not to mention that last interaction between them "mild mannered reporter" that rocked. I enjoyed it even though the Brainiac fight scene was a little anticlimactic. Over all good stuff and Jimmy in a bow tie being Lois' bitch was great. |

That was an awesome episode. Clark in glasses, Lois was very future Lois-like, Jimmy's bow tie, and Lex in the White House. It brought me back to Lois and Clark and the Superman movies. I found it interesting that there was still a meteor shower, just no Clark. It totally makes sense. Tom Welling did a great job in directing an amazing episode.
And time travel is just too complicated. I try not to think about the logistics of it or it makes my head hurt. |

Tom is a awesome Director! I felt like I was watching a Superman movie. Derek and Steve said it was going to be big and they were right like always. If you guys don't remember where that Clark and Lois seen at the end is from. Let me tell you. That seen between Clark and Lois where Lois tries to make Clark feel better is from Superman two the movie! Also I loved the fight on Krypton! That was pure Superman. All Clark Kent needs now is the Superman suit. |

that ep was excellent. Had good pace, the kryptron scenes were awesome, but raised some questions about Jor-el and Lara. That shot of Lex and Clark where lex's face was a profile shot with Clark in the background was well placed. Special effects were spot on. For a sec I thought that when he was using his hearing that they were going to show the eardrum, but the zoom in stopped short. Can't wait to hear SHoE's take on this ep. and the MR leaving story. |

It kind of bugged me that the glove on Lex's hand was never explained. I know they're paying homage to the vision in 'Hourglass' and the comics, but it had no real payoff. I was half-expecting Clark to ask Lois, "What happened to Lex's hand" when they were watching that news conference. |

That was a problem for me as well. I would like to hear a Smallville reason for that glove, besides it just being an easter egg for the comic geeks. |

This was a good episode.
Best Scene: Clark in Suit and Glasses
Worst: Pacing of the final Krypton scene. As awesome as it was, it felt out of place. WTF, now we're on krypton?! |
Agreed sir. I think the Krypton scene, while done very well, felt out of place. I think Tom Welling is begining to become a very good director. I had a few complaints, maybe it was just my mood while watching it, but Lex was talking to Clark while the missles were going out, the cutting between those scenes were kinda annoying going back and forth between the missles and Clark and Lex.....maybe it was just me. I really enjoyed this episode though, everything about it was great. Clark wearing glasses, Lois extremely hot in this ep, seeing Lex as Pres, and of course just being able to hear Jor-El makes everything better.

GET IT?! "SPIKED"
anyway...
|
Ha! Spiked...you see it's funny cause he played Spike on Buffy and he got stabbed with a 'spike' in this ep........yeah, not as funny when you explain it... |

Why was it out of place? Clark had to go onto Krypton to save his skin. It was set up back in "Sleeper" so it wasn't a surprise.

It's kinda trippy, but if you're a fan of thinking about the Chaos Theory and everything, you'll love it. |

Something I overlooked the first time I watched was when Clark showed up on Krypton he says, "Release Lana, now!" Really? That's more important than, "Hey, don't kill me as a baby!"???? Just when he FINALLY realized that his existence is far more important than say, Lana. |

I loved the homage shot through Jimmy's camera (to Superman: The Movie) as well as the entire episode.
The only thing that threw me off was the repeat conversation that Clark and Chloe had at the beginning of the episode, which was exactly the same conversation at the end of "Sleeper". |

I saw that as two fold: 1. anyone who didn't see Sleeper can be caught up and 2. it shows that the mentality of Clark was so bad that Chloe had to tell him the same thing twice.
And I forgot that we got to see Jimmy in a bow tie (a gift from Chloe none-the-less!). |

Clark pushing his glasses up his nose was a great homage to Christopher Reeve, I gotta say.
I liked how the new Clark Kent looked like a teenage John Schneider.
The special effects were phenomenal, from the missiles destroying everything to Krypton blowing up. I just wish that whenever we get a flashback or one of our characters actually has a scene on Krypton, that it didn't look so much like a soundstage. But, man, I always get a wave of emotion no matter how many interpretations I've seen of that little baby spacecraft whizzing away from an exploding planet, on to great destiny...
Sorry if I sound too crude, but was I the only guy who thought Kara looked kinda hot in the last scene? I certainly wasn't crying over spilled milk if you know what I mean. *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* |
