The point is that you have to look at the long run...
before 2000, Marvel had projects like the television movie, The Death of the Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man in legal limbo, Captain America (Which was ok...just needed a budget and some better actors, and a better climax), the unreleased Fantastic Four.
There was some good cartoon outings. However, on the comics scene we suffered through the Clone saga, (read debacle), Heroes Reborn, Heroes Return...all kinds of crazy stuff.
DC's big mistake? Countdown. And the whole retconning again....they really didn't need a retcon, and I don't believe for a minute that Batman will die. |

My theory:
BATMAN will die.
Not Bruce Wayne. |

Tallkid, i agree 125%.
especially after the Ultimate story lines used Samuel L's likeness for Fury. |

It was confirmed this week by writer Grant Morrison that Batman R.I.P will mark the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman.
Thoughts? |

In an interview with IGN Grant Morrison stated that RIP takes place before Final Crisis and that the Batman in Final Crisis is indeed Bruce Wayne, just a little different. He alo said the 2 issues after RIP will tie it in with Final Crisis. |
